In 2025, tax revenues reached $183.109 trillion, marking a 39.4% annual increase, significantly above the 31% expected inflation for the year, according to the Argentine News Agency (NA). In December, revenue totaled $16.527 trillion, with a 27% year-on-year variation, below the cost of living. Value Added Tax (VAT) collected $5.436 trillion in December, with a 21.5% year-on-year change. Meanwhile, Internal VAT increased by 25.1%, while Customs VAT grew by 11.7%. Income Tax showed a 43.8% year-on-year variation, collecting $3.680 trillion. The growth was mainly driven by higher revenues from: ● Internal VAT and Tax on Debits and Credits. ● Income Tax, due to higher tax withholdings. ● Social Security, due to the growth in average gross remuneration. ● Customs revenue linked to imports: due to the increase in imports and the exchange rate. According to the ARCA agency, without these extraordinary revenues in 2024, the year-on-year variation would have been close to 50%.
