Argentina Increases Minimum Pension

The Argentine government raised the minimum pension by 2.47% and set new values for various social benefits, including the Basic Universal Pension and the Universal Pension for the Elderly.


Argentina Increases Minimum Pension

The Ministry of Human Capital, through the National Social Security Administration (ANSES), confirmed this Friday a 2.47% increase in the minimum retirement pension. Thus, the minimum pension amount reaches $349,299.32. To this must be added $70,000 from an additional bonus that has not been updated for two years, which results in a total pocket sum of $419,299.32. Likewise, the body also set the maximum retirement pension at $2,350,453.70. Human Capital clarified that those who earn above the minimum will receive the bonus until the sum reaches $419,299.32. On the other hand, it was determined that the value of the Basic Universal Pension (PBU) will be set at $159,788.50 and the Universal Pension for the Elderly (PUAM) will reach $279,439.46. The adjustment was made considering the variation in the Consumer Price Index (IPC) for November 2025, as established by the current regulations for the benefits of the Integrated Argentine Pension System (SIPA). Finally, the resolution established new limits for the minimum and maximum taxable bases, which were set at $117,643.93 and $3,823,372.95 respectively. These values will come into effect for the accrual period of January 2026.
