Argentina Announces Tender for Waterway Concession

The National Ports and Navigation Agency (ANPYN) officially announced a public tender for the concession of the country's main waterway, effective February 27, 2026. The bid covers the modernization and maintenance of vital water routes, through which 80% of Argentina's exports are transported.

The National Ports and Navigation Agency (ANPYN) officially called for a public national and international tender for the concession of the waterway for February 27, 2026. This was done through Resolution 67/2025, published this Tuesday in the Official Gazette, which approved the bidding documents for the modernization, expansion, operation, and maintenance of the signaling system and dredging tasks of the waterway. The section covered by the bid extends from kilometer 1238 of the Paraná River (Confluence point) to the Natural Deep Waters Zone in the outer Río de la Plata, reaching the height of kilometer 239.1 of the Punta Indio channel. The concession covers the channels of the Engineer Emilio Mitre Canal and the Paraná de las Palmas, Bravo, Guazú, Talavera, and Paraná–Atlantic Ocean rivers. According to the grounds for the measure processed by the Argentine News Agency, the Trunk Navigable Route concentrates nearly 60 port terminals and through it circulates approximately 80% of the country's exports. The deadline for the submission of offers was set for February 27, 2026, at 1:00 PM through the CONTRAT.AR portal.
