Argentine purchases abroad through the courier system continue to break records, accumulating a rise of nearly 300% in 2025 and totaling payments of US$694 million, according to estimates by the consulting firm Analytica. The report accessed by the Noticias Argentinas news agency reflected that spending on imports by individuals between January and October “is 292.1% higher than during the same period last year.” The door-to-door service is growing steadily in Argentina, and in October of last year it increased by 289.9% compared to the same month of 2024, registering operations for a total of US$92 million.

From Analytica, they emphasized that “since July, the entry of goods through this route has stabilized around US$100 million monthly, although the dynamics of e-commerce suggest that the ceiling is still not in sight.”

Currently, the maximum weight of the packages or postal piece to buy via courier is 50 kg, according to provisions made at the beginning of 2025 by the Revenue and Customs Control Agency (ARCA).

Requirements for purchases:

  • The “door-to-door” service and “small shipments” cannot exceed 50 kilograms.
  • The maximum value for each shipment is US$3,000.
  • There is no limit on shipments per courier.
  • “Small shipments” have a limit of up to three units and five shipments per person per year.
  • Up to US$400, import duties and statistics tax are not paid.
  • VAT must be paid.
  • When receiving the package, it is not necessary to register it on the ARCA website.
