Argentina Announces New Electricity Prices for Summer 2026

The National Government will apply new electricity prices for the summer of 2026, as announced today in the Official Bulletin through Resolution 488/2025. The new energy prices, established by the Secretariat of Energy, will be in effect from December 1, 2025, to April 30, 2026. Signed by the Energy Secretary, María Tettamanti, the resolution sets the Reference Prices for Power (POTREF), the Stabilized Energy Price (PEE), and the Stabilized Price for Additional Services (PES) in the Wholesale Electricity Market (MEM). These prices, along with the Stabilized Price for Transport (PET), will be used to create tariff charts for Distributing Agents and other public service providers. The measure also affects the Wholesale Electricity Market of the Tierra del Fuego System (MEMSTDF), establishing new prices for high-voltage transmission and energy distribution. The final price, paid per megawatt-hour (MWh) by each distributor, is calculated by summing the high-voltage and distribution costs.
