In September, sales in supermarkets, shopping malls, and wholesale stores fell.
In shopping malls, sales at constant prices reached a total of 5,770,700 pesos. At current prices, total sales amounted to 486,913,888 pesos (+18.9% year-on-year).
The leading sales categories at current prices were: apparel, footwear, and leather goods (35.3%), food courts, food, and kiosks (17.8%), sports apparel and accessories (13.6%), and electronics, home appliances, and computers (10.3%).
In wholesale stores, sales fell by 13.1% year-on-year and by 5.2% compared to August. In the accumulated nine months of the year, sales decreased by 7.4% compared to the same period in 2024. Total sales at current prices: 287,852,667 pesos (+7.9% year-on-year). Average ticket: 36,959 pesos (+11.5% year-on-year).
The categories with the most significant increases compared to the same month of the previous year were: meats (29.9%), bakery products (15.6%), beverages (13.3%), and grocery stores (12.4%).
32.9% of payments were made with other payment methods. Thus, the negative trend continues, while consumption shows no sign of recovery.

In supermarkets, during the ninth month of the year, sales decreased by 0.8% year-on-year and by 0.2% compared to August. So far this year, sales have shown a growing variation of 2.7% compared to the same period in 2024.
Total sales at current prices: 1,962,362,995 pesos (+23.8% year-on-year). Average ticket: 30,099 pesos (+31.2% year-on-year).
The groups of articles with the most significant increases compared to the same month of the previous year were: 'Apparel, footwear, and home textiles' (53.4%), meats (45.2%), prepared foods and rotisserie (35.2%), and 'Others' (34.8%).
44.1% of payments were made with a credit card. In second place was the credit card (28.3%), followed by cash (22.7%) and the debit card (16.2%).
