Buenos Aires, November 24 (NA) -- A report from the Institute of Economics (INECO) of the UADE calculated the cost of a long weekend getaway, revealing that a typical family needed $1,156,988 to cover minimum expenses. This amount represents 74% of the average salary, confirming that while tourist purchasing power remained stable, spending remains high. According to what the Argentine News Agency learned, the study details that the price gap between tourist destinations is marked and is mainly explained by the cost of accommodation, and not by transportation. Official: Javier Milei signed a long weekend in December following the success of the November bridge holiday. While a massive and close destination like Gualeguaychú implies a little more than a third of a salary ($535,735), traveling to Cariló demanded almost four times that level of income, with a cost exceeding $2,019,121. In between were locations such as Mar del Plata ($942,959), Villa Gesell ($976,092), and Pinamar ($1,316,559). This data coincides with the austere behavior recorded by CAME, where the average daily spending per tourist was 3.7% lower in real terms in 2024, sustaining basic consumption but with prudence.
