According to the Argentine Chamber of the Meat Industry and Commerce (CICCRA), beef consumption in Argentina increased by 4.4% in October compared to the same period in 2024, despite a significant rise in prices. Currently, per capita annual beef consumption in the country reaches 49.1 kilograms, marking a 3.2% year-over-year improvement based on the average of the last twelve months. This rebound indicates that consumption in the country increased by 1.5 kilograms per person per year, equivalent to 1.931 million tons in bone-in weight (r/c/h). Meanwhile, the price of beef accelerated in October by 2.6% monthly, driven by a 3.8% increase in the average price per kilogram of the beef cuts surveyed, combined with a 1.1% monthly decrease in the price of whole chicken. Among beef cuts, asado showed the highest price increase (5.2% monthly), reaching an average value of $11,775.6 per kilogram. This was followed by rump with a 4.1% increase ($15,191.6 per kilogram), common ground beef rose by 3.5% ($7,320.7 per kilogram), shoulder increased by 3.2% ($12,018.2 per kilogram), and sirloin escalated by 3.1% ($14,686.8 per kilogram). Total beef exports for ten months fell to 704.35 thousand tons r/c/h, which CICCRA attributed to the "sharp reduction in purchases made by China until the close of the first half of the year".
