Consumption in supermarkets nationwide grew by 12.5% in October compared to the previous month, with an average ticket of $8,948, according to a private survey. The Scanntech study, conducted on 725 supermarkets nationwide that process over 3 million tickets per month, showed that consumption in October grew by 12.5% compared to September across all sales categories. However, a 2.3% decrease was recorded compared to the same month last year. In September, the survey showed a 7.8% decrease compared to August, and the year-on-year decrease was 6.3%. The price increase for October was 2%, while the year-on-year variation showed an increase of 21.1%. Cosmetics, home care, and snack-breakfast products had the highest month-on-month price increase. Both the interior of the country and the metropolitan area showed the same consumption trend. Thus, the Scanntech radar indicated a change in the monthly trend compared to the previous month.
