Tucumán's Sugar Harvest Sets Record for Cane Milling

In the province of Tucumán, the sugar harvest officially concluded last Saturday, November 8th, after 213 days of work. The harvest proceeded without significant interruptions and under favorable climatic conditions, which allowed for sustained high levels of productivity in the mills. Milling had begun on April 10th and extended until November 8th, with the La Florida mill marking both the start and end of the harvest. The campaign's rhythm was distinguished by its regularity and organization, which was highlighted by the joint work of the Provincial Government, the IPAAT, the industry, and the sugarcane sector as a key element to achieve the results obtained. According to official data reported by the Tucumán Sugar and Alcohol Promotion Institute (IPAAT), to which the Argentine News Agency had access, the province's mills achieved a total milling of 17,670,000 tons of raw cane. This figure constitutes a historical milling record for our province. Likewise, this volume slightly exceeds the last projection made by the EEAOC in August, regarding the availability of raw material for the harvest, which had been estimated at 17,600,000 tons. Regarding the production of physical sugar, it reached 1,305,236 tons, which includes the different types produced by the mills: - common white sugar type A (812,634 tons), - refined sugar (172,353 tons), - raw sugar (303,604 tons), - and organic sugar (16,645 tons). The IPAAT expects the establishments to still report their final factory liquidation data to report on a balance the final values of the harvest in Tucumán. The alcohol campaign has not concluded.
