The presidents of the United States, Donald Trump, and of Argentina, Javier Milei, announced today the creation of a Framework for a Reciprocal Trade and Investment Agreement, aiming to strengthen bilateral economic relations, foster market openness, and promote cooperation in strategic areas.
Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno stated on Thursday that it is a "privilege and honor" to announce the free trade agreement with the United States, highlighting that it will "increase investments in Argentina and reduce tariffs" for the industry.
"The agreement creates the conditions to increase US investments in Argentina and includes tariff reductions for key industries, boosting bilateral trade between both countries," Quirno said.
He also gave a "special recognition to our teams from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Economy, and Ministry of Deregulation who worked constructively and tirelessly for months to achieve this goal" and expressed gratitude to President Javier Milei for his constant support and conviction to reach this agreement.
