According to the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INDEC), a family of four needed 1,213,798.81 Argentine pesos to overcome the poverty threshold in October. Compared to September, both the Basic Food Basket (CBA) and the Total Basket (CBT) increased by 3.1%. Thus, both baskets exceeded the inflation rate for the ninth month of the year, which was 2.3%. From January to October, the CBA and CBT accumulated increases of 21.1% and 18.5%, respectively. Compared to the tenth month of 2024, increases of 25.2% for the CBA and 23% for the CBT were recorded. For a household of three people, the CBA amounted to 433,330 pesos and the CBT to 966,325 pesos, totaling 1,399,655 pesos. For a single-person household, these figures were 544,304 pesos for the CBA and 1,213,799 pesos for the CBT, totaling 1,758,103 pesos. For a household of five, a sum of 1,849,137 pesos was needed: 572,488 from the CBA and 1,276,649 from the CBT.
