Judge Denies YPF's Request in Alter Ego National Lawsuit

Judge Loretta Preska denied a request from the oil company YPF to avoid the disclosure of information in the lawsuit that seeks to establish whether the company is an alter ego of the Nation.

This branch of the YPF nationalization case seeks connections between the company and the Argentine state in order to establish a direct link between both.

The requests were made by the beneficiaries of the case, who, if they prove that they are 'the same' (alter ego), can request seizures of the Nation's assets and thereby obtain the funds to pay the $16 billion sentence.

In recent hours, the magistrate denied a filing by the company, and therefore the previous requests remain firm.

This part of the mega-lawsuit has no direct connection to the appeal filed by Argentina with the Court of Appeals, which seeks to directly reverse Preska's ruling.

Despite this situation, the meantime, the derived cases continue to proceed and generate orders of this style.
