YPF Digital is rolling out new features, including self-service refueling, peer-to-peer transfers, and bill payments. This was announced by General Manager Mauro Cercos. The company's key strategy is not radical disruption, but continuous improvement of existing services for user convenience. The YPF app is already a leader in downloads, with over 40% of all payments at service stations being made through digital wallets. The self-service refueling feature is available at over 13 stations and has been used more than 70,000 times. In the coming weeks, users will be able to transfer funds to external accounts, pay utility bills (electricity, gas, water, telecommunications), and make purchases at stores outside of service stations. This expansion, combined with the recent addition of dollar payments, is solidifying the app's position as a comprehensive financial tool. The 'Money in Account (DeC)' system allows users to send money to other users or merchants via an alias, without needing to be at a service station. Future updates to the self-service refueling feature include a 'full tank' option that will complete the refueling to a pre-selected amount and automatically refund the difference if the fuel pumped is less than the value chosen.
