The National Commission for Work in Private Households has called a meeting to review the salaries of domestic staff for the final stretch of the year, considering the impact of inflation on the sector's income. The meeting will take place next Friday, November 7th, at 10:30 AM, at the headquarters of the Secretariat of Labor, Employment, and Social Security, which is part of the Ministry of Human Capital. “And if necessary and/or requested via a virtual platform,” the meeting will be held online. The call for the plenary session of the body was formalized by the President of the Commission, Sara Gatti, through Resolution 2/2025, published this Tuesday in the Official Gazette. The agenda set in the official text consists of the “analysis of the evolution of minimum wages for Domestic Workers included in the special regime of Law No. 26.844.” The last salary discussion took place in July and determined an average increase of 6.5% between February and September, so the salaries of domestic staff increased by 3.5% over the January wage and by 1% in July, as well as in August and September. Additionally, on that occasion, it was agreed to pay one-time non-remunerative bonuses during the months of July, August, and September, with differentiated amounts from $4,000 to $10,000 depending on the weekly workload. This week's call comes with a delay regarding the time set to re-discuss the salary update, as in the last negotiation it was decided to hold the meeting between the worker, employer, and public sector representatives in October. Current salaries for domestic staff: Supervisors with retirement: $3,683 per hour and $459,471 per month worked. Supervisors without retirement: $4,034 per hour and $511,800 per month. Staff for specific tasks with retirement: $3,487 per hour and $426,875 per month. Staff for specific tasks without retirement: $3,822 per hour and $475,184 per month. Caretakers: $3,293 per hour and $416,485 per month. Assistance and care for people with retirement: $3,293 per hour and $416,485 per month.
