ENRE Authorized Edesur and Edenor to Change Electricity Billing Method

Argentina's ENRE authorized Edesur and Edenor to switch to a monthly billing system for all residential users while also approving electricity tariff hikes.

ENRE Authorized Edesur and Edenor to Change Electricity Billing Method

The National Electricity Regulatory Entity (ENRE) authorized Edesur and Edenor to modify the billing period for all residential users (Tariff 1).

How it was until now: The companies measured consumption every two months but divided that total into two monthly bills. That is, the bill arriving at the end of the month will correspond exactly to the consumption for that period.

Transition Period: What if my bill comes with "adjustments"?

According to ENRE, this generated "confusion" and a "temporal gap" between actual consumption and billing.

How it will be now: A system of monthly meter reading and billing is being implemented.

November begins with a double blow to the pockets of Edesur and Edenor users: the government officially approved a new increase in electricity tariffs and, at the same time, approved a complete change in how consumption is measured and billed.

The Tariff Increase

Through Resolutions 744/2025 and 745/2025 published in the Official Gazette, the National Electricity Regulatory Entity (ENRE) established new tariff tables effective from November 1:

Edenor: A 3.6% increase from October. Edesur: A 3.53% increase from October.

The increases affect all residential users, regardless of their segmentation level (N1 - high income, N2 - low income, and N3 - medium income).
