Paradisiacal beaches and all-inclusive hotels are driving luxury tourism in Latin America. According to the "Panorama of luxury tourism in Latin America" report by Hyatt Inclusive Collection (HIC), this type of traveler is gaining increasing prominence in countries like Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and Costa Rica, considered mature markets with air connectivity, high-end hotels, and top-tier gastronomic and wellness experiences. "These countries generate tourists who extend their stays and increase their spending, and above all, who want to return to the destination," explains Antonio Fungairino, Head for Latin America and the Caribbean at HIC. The HIC analysis also identifies Brazil and Colombia as emerging markets with great potential due to their location and cultural attractions, elements increasingly valued by luxury travelers. "The Argentine tourist who consumes luxury services mainly prefers the beach destinations of the Caribbean and Brazil, with stays of one to two weeks. The Argentine tourist has consolidated as a key factor within luxury tourism in Latin America." Travelers seek an emotional value that combines well-being, cultural connection, and sustainability. According to HIC, the three elements that are repeated in the region are: Well-being: experiences that promote physical and mental health. Authenticity: genuine experiences that reflect the local culture. Personalized service: attention adapted to the needs and preferences of each traveler. "Destinations that manage to integrate well-being, sustainability, and authenticity will be better positioned to consolidate their growth in the coming years," concludes the Hyatt Inclusive Collection report. The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and the OECD agree: price, sustainability, security, and authenticity mark the sector's agenda and guide the diversification of the offer. Profile of the luxury traveler in Latin America Today, luxury tourism is not measured only by ostentation or infrastructure. The report highlights that the true engine of luxury tourism does not depend solely on a destination's location or cultural attractions, but on how it responds to travelers' expectations. "We value experiences that combine exclusivity, well-being, comfort, security, and accessibility, especially for family groups, unlike other markets where couple or individual trips prevail," adds Fungairino.
