Nationwide Mobilization for Social Wage Increase

Social organizations report that informal, self-managed work and temporary jobs are at risk due to the decline in consumption and the paralysis of the economy. They will mobilize on Friday, May 9, in a National Day of Struggle.

Among the main demands are an increase in the Complementary Social Wage to the level of the Minimum Wage, the expansion of the program, the continuation of the Social Monotributo, and the immediate return of food to community kitchens. They indicate that Minister Pettovello has reduced the Complementary Social Wage to unsustainable levels, affecting those working in various essential activities.

The mobilization, called by more than 40 organizations such as the CTA Barrial Front, Territories in Struggle, UTEP, and the Piquetero Struggle Front, seeks to raise awareness of the problems faced by workers in vulnerable sectors. It is pointed out that the current situation has left more than a million people without health coverage and has interrupted food delivery in community kitchens.

In a context where hunger, layoffs, and unemployment are on the rise, these organizations aim to defend the work and wages of those who need it most. They emphasize that, after 17 months of the government's assumption, the crisis has deepened, leaving more than 5 million people in a desperate situation.

The National Day of Struggle will take place in different locations across the country, although specific places and times have not been specified. The union of these organizations responds to the urgency of confronting the labor and social precariousness that has worsened in recent times.
