Argentina Cancels Intransferable Bills with IMF Funds

The Central Bank canceled Non-Transferable Bills that were in its possession with the funds from the first disbursement received from the IMF totaling US$ 12.000 million. These bills started in January 2006 with Néstor Kirchner settling the debt with the IMF of US$ 9.530 million.

The BCRA detailed that it received US$ 12.000 million in cash value for Non-Transferable Bills maturing in June 2025 and April 2026 (total cancellation) and in April 2029 (partial cancellation). In a statement, the Central Bank indicated that these resources, derived from the new agreement with the IMF, help strengthen its balance.

"The BCRA received US$12.000 million in cash value for the Non-Transferable Bills maturing 01/06/2025 (total cancellation), 29/04/2026 (total cancellation), and 03/04/2029 (partial cancellation)," announced the entity.

These funds obtained through the cancellation of the Non-Transferable Bills represent a positive step for the Central Bank and its financial position, thanks to the agreement with the IMF.
