The National Administration of Social Security (ANSES) will inform applicants about the status of their application. For those residing in areas with a gas network who do not have a connection, they must present a certificate from the distributor certifying this situation at an ANSES office (by appointment). The process is free, and the value of the subsidy, determined by the Ministry of Energy, varies depending on the size of the family group, the location of the home, and the time of year. During the winter months or if more than five people live in the household, the subsidy amount may increase.
Regarding the requirements to access the subsidy, none of the members of the household unit must have a natural gas service in their name or have applied for the Social Gas Tariff. Household income must be less than 2 minimum wages or up to category C of the simplified tax. There are exceptions, such as the possibility of raising the limit to 3 minimum wages or category D in the case of a person with a disability with a valid Unique Disability Certificate. In the Patagonian provinces and cold areas, income limits are higher, reaching up to 2.8 minimum wages or category D, or 4.2 minimum wages or category E if there are persons with disabilities.
The government of Javier Milei maintains the Home Program, a subsidy for families without a natural gas network connection, for the purchase of 10, 12, or 15-kilogram gas cylinders. In specific areas, there is the possibility of requesting additional cylinders, such as in Tierra del Fuego, Santa Cruz, Chubut, Río Negro, Neuquén, La Pampa, the Patagones party (Buenos Aires), La Puna and cold regions of Buenos Aires, Córdoba, La Rioja, Mendoza, San Juan, Santa Fe, Salta, and Tucumán.
To apply for the subsidy, one must access the ANSES website with the CUIL and the Social Security Key, verify that personal and family data are updated, and select the "Programs and Benefits" option, then "Request Social Tariff," where one can opt for the Home Program and follow the required steps, concluding with the download of the receipt.
