New Salary Increase for Construction Workers in Argentina

The Government of Javier Milei, through the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security, announced the approval of the first wage agreement for 2025 for the Argentine Construction Workers Union (UOCRA). This agreement involves an increase and a new salary scale for all workers in the sector. It was signed by the union, the Argentine Chamber of Construction (Camarco), and the Argentine Federation of Construction Entities (FAEC).

As part of this agreement, a scheduled increase of 4.3% was established on the basic salaries in effect as of December 2024. This increase will be applied as follows: 1.8% in January 2025, 1.5% in February 2025, and 1% in March 2025. It was clarified that the increases will be cumulative, ensuring a progressive update of the workers' earnings in the sector.

Additionally, it was agreed to pay two fixed non-remunerative sums of $20,000 for all workers under Collective Labor Agreements CCT No. 76/75 and CCT No. 577/10. The new salary scales for March 2025 are as follows, varying according to the category and geographical area of the construction workers:

- Specialized Officer - Zone A: $4,741 - Zone B: $5,262 - Zone C: $7,278 - Zone C- Austral: $9,482

- Officer - Zone A: $4,056 - Zone B: $4,504 - Zone C: $6,824 - Zone C- Austral: $8,111

- Semi-Officer - Zone A: $3,748 - Zone B: $4,154 - Zone C: $6,585 - Zone C- Austral: $7,496

- Helper - Zone A: $3,450 - Zone B: $3,846 - Zone C: $6,394 - Zone C- Austral: $6,899

- Watchman - Zone A: $6,268 - Zone B: $6,861 - Zone C: $6,981 - Zone C- Austral: $12,533

These increases and new salary scales aim to ensure an improvement in the working and salary conditions of construction workers in Argentina.
