In light of the increases in electricity and gas rates, users are taking additional measures to control their energy consumption at home. Many believe that appliances that are turned off but plugged in still consume energy, known as 'standby consumption' or 'vampire consumption.'

According to specialists, disconnecting certain appliances can be key to significantly reducing the electricity bill. One of the devices that consumes the most energy, even when it is off, is the television. Although it may appear to be in sleep mode, many modern televisions continue to use energy for various reasons.

These devices automatically update their operating system via the network, consuming energy even when not in use. Additionally, the internet connection for updates also contributes to the energy consumption of televisions. The 'Standby' mode, while consuming less than when it is on, still requires energy to activate quickly. This type of energy expenditure, although individually insignificant, can represent up to 10 or 20% of the total energy bill at home.

Therefore, it is recommended to disconnect appliances that consume standby energy when not in use, such as televisions, audio systems, mobile chargers, and other similar devices. This measure can make a difference in the final cost of the electricity bill, being an effective way to save energy and money at home.
