
The state oil company YPF reported that in 2024 it achieved a profit of 4.654 million dollars thanks to the growth of the unconventional megafield Vaca Muerta. EBITDA increased by 15%, driven by the recovery of local fuel prices, revenue from oil exports, and the expansion of shale oil.
Regarding investments, they reached 5.041 million dollars, meeting the strategic plan's objective. Of the total, 63.5% was allocated to unconventional resources, mostly in Vaca Muerta. In 2024, the company issued international bonds totaling 1.440 million dollars.
During the past year, YPF consolidated its position as the largest oil producer in Vaca Muerta, with a 26% increase in its production. The company's exports grew by 174%, reaching an average of 35,000 barrels per day, primarily to Chile.
Shale P1 reserves in Vaca Muerta grew by 13% in 2024, reaching 854 thousand barrels, representing 78% of the company's total reserves. The reserves replacement rate was 1.9x, indicating significant growth in reserves, allowing for a doubling of extraction during the year.
