The Argentine company Morixe, supported by its majority shareholder Sociedad Comercial del Plata, has acquired 60% of Biomac, a leader in healthy food. This acquisition aims to strengthen Morixe's presence in the local and international markets, as well as enhance Biomac's projection in different sectors.
The operation will strengthen Biomac's presence in supermarkets, wholesalers, and on the e-commerce platform, allowing for direct sales to consumers. Furthermore, it will reinforce Morixe's export capacity in key markets such as the United States, Canada, and Europe, where the demand for healthy food has been increasing.
"The purchase of Biomac represents a fundamental step in our growth and diversification strategy," highlighted Roman MalceƱido, CEO of Morixe. He added that with this acquisition, they aim to develop a broad, diverse business with expansion potential both nationally and internationally.
Biomac, with over 20 years in the market, is a leader in frozen fruits and organic products. It supplies more than 1,400 customers in Argentina and has an export unit focused on sending products to countries like the United States, Canada, and Europe. The global market for organic frozen fruits is constantly growing and is expected to continue increasing in the coming years.
In the fiscal year 2024, Biomac achieved annual revenues of over US$ 7.5 million, processing and adding value to more than 3,700 tons of raw materials sourced from Argentina. The healthy food market continues to expand, and this acquisition consolidates the positions of Morixe and Biomac in this constantly growing sector.
