Improvement Works on National Routes in Argentina

The National Highway Administration is working on various road projects to meet the needs of the pavements and ensure safer traffic on the extensive national routes connecting different tourist cities in various Argentine provinces. In the province of Río Negro, work is being carried out on sections of the national routes, with a particular focus on RN23.

At the camps in Valcheta, Jacobacci, Pilcaniyeu, and Bariloche, the Conservation teams of the National Highway Administration in Río Negro are conducting maintenance work on national routes 23 and 40. On RN 40, between El Bolsón and Bariloche, pothole repairs are being made with hot mix, ditches are being cleaned, and grass is being cut on the Bariloche bypass. Meanwhile, on RN 23, cold patching and cleaning of roadside areas is being undertaken on sections yet to be paved.

The work encompasses the Comallo region, between Pilcaniyeu and Dina Huapi, using heavy machinery to correct irregularities and improve safety. Cold patching is also being carried out between Ingeniero Jacobacci and Los Menucos, and work is continuing on optimizing the detour of RN 23 in Nahuel Niyeu, reinforcing vertical signage and widening the stream bed.

These efforts aim to maintain the National Routes in optimal condition for vehicle traffic, considering the importance of road conditions for the safety of motorists. Soon, filling and widening tasks will be carried out at the west entrance to improve visibility and the transition from asphalt to gravel of the detour.
