The renowned Argentine plastic artist, Helmut Ditsch, is known for his works inspired by the nature of his homeland. Born in 1962 in San MartÃn, Buenos Aires, Ditsch left Argentina at the age of 26 to settle in Europe. He entered the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and then moved to Ireland before establishing himself in Vaduz, the capital of Liechtenstein, at the foot of the Alps.
One of Ditsch's most prominent paintings is a work inspired by the famous Perito Moreno Glacier, which was recently sold for the impressive sum of 1.6 million dollars, marking a record for Argentine art. It is not the first time Ditsch's works have reached million-dollar figures in the market; previously, one of his pieces representing the Atlantic Ocean reached 875 thousand dollars, surpassing previous records. Then, with the monumental work called Cosmigonón, which also features the Perito Moreno Glacier, he sold it for 1.5 million dollars to another European company.
The artist's latest work, representing the Perito Moreno Glacier, was acquired by the HPH Privatstiftung for 1,615,900 euros. This foundation belongs to the owner of Strabag, a major European construction company based in Vienna. The painting, done in oil on canvas, measures 2 meters in height by 12 meters in length and required almost a year of work to complete.
Helmut Ditsch, known for his exceptional technique in painting natural landscapes, stands out for his ability to capture the essence and details of the scenes he recreates. Through his works, Ditsch manages to convey the majesty and beauty of mountains, rivers, deserts, and seas, thanks to his meticulous research work and his deep connection to nature.
