Unilever Names New CEO: Fernando Fernández

Unilever has appointed Fernando Fernández, an Argentine with nearly 40 years of experience in the company, as its new global CEO, succeeding Hein Schumacher on March 1. Fernández has held important roles in different areas and markets, including the United States, Uruguay, and the Philippines, and recently served as CFO of Unilever.

In his vision for the company, Fernández has expressed his intention to build a future-focused portfolio and maintain Unilever's global leadership position. He emphasized the importance of continuing to generate value for shareholders, with a particular focus on the company’s top 30 brands.

Unilever, known for brands like Rexona, Knorr, and Hellmann’s, recently presented its 2024 financial report, reporting revenues of 60.761 billion euros, a 4.2% increase compared to the previous year. The company is focused on a growth plan aimed at continuing to drive its performance worldwide.

Fernando Fernández, a graduate in Economics from the University of Buenos Aires, began his career at Unilever in 1987 and has significantly climbed the ranks within the company over the years. In addition to his responsibilities as CFO, in his last role he took on management of strategic areas such as Supply Chain, Digital and Technology, and Commercial Services.
