Record Growth in Argentina's Air Travel Sector

The Argentine aerocommercial sector experienced a significant increase in January 2025, reaching a total of 4,561,866 passengers at airports across the country, according to the National Administration of Civil Aviation (ANAC). This result surpasses previous records, breaking the record of December 2024, which had been 4,399,199 passengers, and exceeding the best previous January in 2019, with 4,229,076 passengers.

On international flights, 1,520,584 passengers were transported, while domestic flights reached a figure of 3,041,282. This increase represents a 12% rise compared to the same month of the previous year and a 4% increase compared to December 2024. This solid growth has been attributed to the deregulation and market opening policies implemented by the Ministry of Economy's Transportation Secretariat, promoting a greater supply of air transport.

Regarding air movements, there was a 6% increase compared to January 2024, totaling 34,995 flights. This data comes from a new measurement system introduced by ANAC, designed to record both the volume of passengers and the number of air movements at airports in the National Airport System, improving the transparency and quality of the available information.

Thanks to the Open Skies policy, several airports saw a significant increase in international passenger traffic in January 2025. Tucumán, El Calafate, Jujuy, and Rosario experienced notable increases due to new connections and air routes. Additionally, 209,524 people traveled directly from the interior of the country to international destinations, representing a 61% increase compared to January 2024.

This growth in aerocommercial activity is the result of policies implemented by the National Government, which continue to promote deregulation and the opening of the aerocommercial market, expanding the supply of flights and fostering greater connectivity throughout the country for the benefit of passengers.
