Changes in Progresar Scholarships Starting March 2025

The National Administration of Social Security (ANSES) made significant changes to the requirements for the Progresar Scholarships starting in March 2025. This program, designed to provide financial support to young people in their studies, will implement new conditions that will restrict access to the benefit for some students.

One of the key modifications includes the maximum limit of family income, which must not exceed $890,496 starting in March 2025, in order to access the Progresar Scholarships. Those whose income exceeds this amount will not be eligible unless they are holders of a Non-Contributory Disability Pension.

Regarding the reasons for losing the benefit, recipients will not be able to access it if they fail to meet conditions such as having completed a degree, teaching, or technical course, exceeding the established duration time for the course, not enrolling in the established period, being registered in the Income Tax Regime, or receiving another educational scholarship.

The current amount of the Progresar Scholarships is $35,000, with 80% of the total paid initially until the required documentation is submitted to receive the remaining 20%. The main objective is to provide financial support to young people seeking to complete their studies at all educational levels, thereby contributing to educational inclusion and job training.

Finally, among the lines of the Progresar Scholarships are: Progresar Mandatory, to complete primary or secondary studies; Progresar Higher, aimed at tertiary or university students; and Progresar Work, focused on professional training and vocational courses.
