On Wednesday, within the framework of the agreement signed in August 2024 between the company Power China and the Government of Catamarca, proposals were presented to Governor Raúl Jalil to begin the construction of the first 200 MW of solar energy in the province. The meeting was attended by Vice Governor Rubén Dusso, the representative of Power China in Argentina, Mr. He YiBo, and representatives from Shanghai Electric Power Construction Company, Mr. Jiang Haifeng and Mr. Song Zhe.
The initial agreement, established during the visit to China last August, provides for the establishment of four solar parks with a total capacity of 600 MW. These projects, named "Catamarca Solar" (250 MW), "Las Carretas" (150 MW), "Los Caserones" (100 MW) and "Tres Quebradas" (100 MW), will be owned by the provincial government at the time financing is requested.
The Government emphasized the importance of these projects for the advancement of clean energy in Catamarca, as they imply a generation of 600 MW, double the energy currently distributed by the provincial company. Furthermore, they mark a milestone in the transition towards renewable energies in the province.
"These projects are fundamental for the sustainable development of Catamarca. They represent a significant shift towards cleaner and more sustainable energy generation in the region," highlighted Governor Raúl Jalil.
