New Voluntary Retirement Regime in Catamarca

More than 60% of public agents in Catamarca, equivalent to 10,500 people, have the opportunity to access the "Early Voluntary Retirement" regime, according to information provided by the Ministry of Labor, Planning, and Human Resources. However, employees performing essential functions, such as teachers, healthcare personnel, and security forces, are excluded from the benefit in order to ensure the continuity of critical services in the province.

The process for joining the regime is straightforward and is conducted entirely digitally. The governor of Catamarca, Raúl Jalil, accompanied by the ministers of Labor, Verónica Soria, and Economy, Alejandra Nazareno, has reviewed the progress and impact of this plan aimed at public administration agents.

The regime, in operation since July 2024, is directed at permanent staff in various areas of the public administration in the province. This initiative offers the option to retire early from their public positions, with a monthly payment based on the years of service remaining until retirement.

Through this regime, participants will receive a guaranteed monthly income, calculated based on their gross salary, retirement contributions, and health coverage, ensuring their long-term financial stability. The monthly amounts are adjusted according to the years remaining until retirement, providing financial support according to proximity to retirement.

The payment modality is established in percentages, where agents with 5 years or less until retirement will receive 80% of their salary, while those with 7, 10, or 15 years remaining will receive 75%, 70%, and 65% respectively.

The regime is open for women aged 45 and older and men aged 50 and older, provided they have at least 5 years of seniority in service by the end of 2023. The enrollment process can be done electronically through the TAD Catamarca platform.
