The management of the Argentine Union of Pharmacists and Biochemists (SAFYB) has concluded the first collective bargaining agreement for 2025 corresponding to the first two months of the year. The increase will affect January and February and impact additional items such as Competencies, Management, and Retention. Furthermore, other benefits such as seniority, attendance, and additional items will be added, resulting in a 30% increase in salaries in the sector.
The agreement applies to employees affiliated with and included in collective labor agreements 691/14, 707/15, 794/22, and 795/22, benefiting workers in laboratories, drugstores, and pharmacies.
In January 2025, the minimum salary for pharmacists and biochemists affiliated with SAFYB will be $2,400,000, while in February it will rise to $2,500,000. Both parties agreed to meet in March 2025 to review the agreement, considering the variations in inflation during those months and its probable impact on the purchasing power of salaries.
The union's general secretary, Marcelo Peretta, expressed his satisfaction with the increase, highlighting that it will allow them to maintain purchasing power. However, he issued a warning about possible external variables that could affect the income of the affiliates. Peretta stated: "We made a short agreement because we understand that there are variables outside of inflation that can impact the income of our affiliates."
