La Pampa Governor Discusses Low Tax Rates

The governor of La Pampa, Sergio Ziliotto, joined the discussion about the level of taxes in Argentine provinces, highlighting that his district has one of the lowest tax burdens in the country. Ziliotto announced the upcoming provincial Expo Pyme to be held next April, where he mentioned, "The tax burden in La Pampa is one of the lowest."

In comparison with seven other geographically nearby provinces with similar productive matrices, Ziliotto pointed out that La Pampa is among those with the lowest tax pressure, along with San Luis. The governor made this clarification in response to claims such as that of Marcos Galperin, head of Mercado Libre, requesting a reduction in the gross income rates for financial services.

In contrast to provinces like Santa Fe, Jujuy, and Córdoba, which have higher rates, La Pampa maintains a tax rate of 3.90%, benefiting those who create jobs and add value, who are exempt from taxes according to Ziliotto. The governor emphasized that the tax policy in La Pampa differs from the national one.

From the Pampean government, it was highlighted that certain national measures have incentivized the export of raw materials without added value, which negatively impacts important industrial complexes in the province. For example, the removal of tariffs on the export of scrap and raw leather affects key sectors such as the steel industry and leather tanning industry.

Moreover, the recent reduction in export duties harms the oilseed industry, which does not receive the same treatment as the export of unprocessed products, as argued by the Pampean government.
