Renault Kwid E-Tech Prices Reduced in Argentina

The Renault Kwid E-Tech can now be more affordable in Argentina due to new government exemptions on electric vehicle import costs. The price could drop significantly, attracting urban buyers with its compact design and efficient features.


Renault Kwid E-Tech Prices Reduced in Argentina

The Renault Kwid E-Tech is one of the vehicles that will benefit from the exemption of import taxes in Argentina. This measure, announced by the government, will have a maximum quota of 50,000 units per year assigned to automakers operating in the country and meeting certain qualification criteria to access the benefit.

The Renault Kwid E-Tech is an electric car currently produced in China and began selling in Argentina in February 2024. It belongs to Segment A (Citycar) and is designed for urban use. Although its list price is $25,450,000, retail sales rise slightly to $26,110,000.

Due to its price in China being $11,111, the Kwid E-Tech qualifies for the exemption of import tariffs on electric vehicles in Argentina. With a reduction from 35% to 0%, the car's value could decrease by $4,086,832, reaching about $22,024,168 in the country.

The Renault Kwid E-Tech, manufactured in China through Renault's collaboration with Dongfeng, features compact dimensions and is equipped with an electric motor generating 65 horsepower and a 26.8 kWh lithium battery with a range of 298 kilometers.

The vehicle is 3.58 meters long, 1.75 meters wide, has a wheelbase of 2.42 meters, and a trunk capacity of 290 liters. In addition to electric power steering, the Kwid E-Tech reaches a top speed of 130 km/h.

Regarding safety, the Renault Kwid E-Tech comes with electronic stability control (ESP) and six airbags as standard, which are notable features for a Segment A vehicle. It also includes a digital dashboard and a 14-inch multimedia screen compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The Argentine government announced the elimination of taxes for certain categories of vehicles, making electric cars like the Renault Kwid E-Tech more accessible in the country. This tax reduction will take effect from February 1 and is expected to promote the use of electromobility in Argentina.
