Increase in Argentina's Economic Activity in November

In November, Argentina's economic activity saw a 0.1% year-on-year increase, according to Indec. Five sectors contributed positively, particularly fishing and financial intermediation, while construction and utility sectors declined.

In November, the Monthly Economic Activity Estimator (EMAE) recorded a year-on-year increase of 0.1%, according to the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (Indec). Additionally, a growth of 0.9% was observed compared to October in the seasonally adjusted measurement.

In the comparative analysis with November 2023, five sectors that constitute the EMAE experienced increases. Notably, Fishing (+164.6% year-on-year) and Financial Intermediation (+9.9% year-on-year) stood out. The latter sector had the greatest positive impact on the year-on-year variation of the EMAE, followed by Mining and Quarrying (+7.1% year-on-year) and Fishing (+164.6% year-on-year).

On the other hand, ten sectors showed significant year-on-year declines, with Construction (-14.2% year-on-year) and Electricity, Gas and Water (-5.6% year-on-year) being the most prominent in this regard.

Overall, the sectors of Construction (-14.2% year-on-year), Manufacturing Industry (-2.3% year-on-year) and Wholesale, Retail and Repair Trade (-1.3% year-on-year) subtracted one percentage point from the year-on-year variation of the EMAE.
