Argentina's economic activity increased by 0.1% year-on-year in November 2024, led by notable growth in sectors like Fishing (164.6%). Some sectors, however, faced declines.


Argentina's Economic Activity Shows Mild Growth

According to a report this Thursday from INDEC, economic activity in November 2024 increased by 0.1% compared to the same month of the previous year and by 0.9% compared to October. Among the sectors that drove this growth, Fishing stood out with a year-on-year increase of 164.6%.

In November, five sectors that make up the EMAE showed increases compared to the same month of the previous year. In addition to Fishing, Financial Intermediation increased by 9.9%, Mining and Quarrying by 7.1%, and Net Taxes on Subsidies by 3.7%. Financial Intermediation had the greatest positive impact on the year-on-year variation of the EMAE, followed by Mining and Quarrying and Fishing.

On the other hand, ten sectors recorded declines in comparison to the previous year, with Construction (-14.2%) and Electricity, Gas, and Water (-5.6%) being the most significant. Together, Construction, Manufacturing Industry, and Trade subtracted one percentage point from the year-on-year variation of the EMAE.
