The National Administration of Social Security (ANSES) has announced that, starting in February, a measure will be implemented that will affect certain workers regarding the payment of the Universal Child Allowance (AUH) and the benefits of the Unique Family Allowance System (SUAF). This group will not be able to receive these benefits if they exceed the established income limits. Furthermore, with the implementation of the new National Early Childhood Plan, beneficiaries with children up to 4 years old will be able to access the AUH.
In January, the amounts of the AUH have been set as follows: $76,436 without deductions for the AUH, $248,897 for the AUH for a child with a disability, $101,812 for AUH in unfavorable areas, and $323,570 for AUH with a disability in unfavorable areas.
The payment date for the AUH in January started on Thursday, the 9th, for beneficiaries, according to the termination of their document numbers, with no interruptions due to holidays, also covering the Universal Allowance for Pregnancy (AUE). On the other hand, students who do not meet the maximum requirement of the Progresar Scholarships program will be dropped.
Regarding changes for workers under the private house regime or registered in the Social Monotribute, a group of AUH and SUAF beneficiaries will not be able to receive payments in February due to their income and employment. To transition from receiving the AUH to the SUAF, one must start working in a formal job, which implies ceasing to receive the AUH and being able to access the SUAF, a process that can take between 30 and 90 days.
AUH beneficiaries will also receive the additional benefit of the Food Card, but will not be able to collect SUAF benefits. Monotributistas who recategorize into categories I, J, and K, as well as informal workers with incomes above the Minimum, Vital, and Mobile Salary, and dependent employees who exceed the current SUAF limits, will be subject to these new provisions.
Despite these measures, there are exceptions that allow for continued AUH payments. The payment of the AUH for January ended on Wednesday, the 22nd. Additionally, categories have been established for the extra benefit granted to families based on the number of children, as well as the Milk Supplement for women with nursing-age children, among other additional benefits that will be settled in January along with the monthly payments.
