Ushuaia Court Rejects Tierra del Fuego Government's Request

Ushuaia, January 29 (NA) – The Federal Court of Ushuaia rejected the request from the Tierra del Fuego government to proceed with an urgent injunction against the national executive's intervention in the Port of Ushuaia. The court argued that “there are no reasons to justify the opening of the judicial recess,” and also requested that the prosecutor's office issue a statement on the court's competence to resolve the conflict between the provincial administration and the national government. According to the Argentine News Agency, it was also requested that the prosecutor's office determine if the Governor of Tierra del Fuego is authorized to appear in the case, a function that should correspond to the Provincial State Prosecutor's Office. In the same resolution, the court asked the Legal and Technical Secretary of Tierra del Fuego, Emiliano Fossatto, to process the corresponding federal registration in order to intervene in the case before the Federal Justice.
