Controversial Case of Teenage Mother in Saladillo

A 13-year-old girl gave birth in the city of Saladillo. The case provoked a violent reaction from the neighbors against the home of the mother and stepfather, whom they accuse of abuse. The minor was taken to the Alejandro Posadas zonal hospital with stomach pains, but the doctors discovered she was in labor at 35 weeks of gestation.

The news spread rapidly through the city, generating outrage among residents who blamed the mother and her partner for what happened. Disturbances occurred in front of the minor's home, her mother, and her stepfather, where neighbors threw objects and even stones, causing damage to the property.

Some neighbors accused the mother of prostituting the girl and subjecting her to abuse, although there were no prior reports to support those claims. In light of the situation, the doctors informed the Directorate of Childhood and Adolescence of the Municipality of Saladillo and the police.

The girl's mother filed a criminal complaint claiming that she was unaware of her daughter's pregnancy. The investigation is led by the Functional Instruction Unit No. 2 of Saladillo, although due to the judicial recess, it has temporarily passed to the substitute prosecutor Patricia Hortel, whose home was also attacked by groups of excited neighbors.

It is expected that one of the first measures of the investigation will be a DNA test to determine the paternity of the newborn. Both the mother and her partner are at the center of suspicions, despite the mother's claims of her ignorance regarding the minor's pregnancy.
