Buenos Aires, February 10 (NA) – The mother of Cecilia Strzyzowski considered the life sentence against the Sena clan to be 'one more step' and stated that the culprits 'lost their humanity'. Gloria Romero spoke with the Argentine News Agency and expressed her relief after the ruling handed down this Tuesday in the Second Chamber of the Criminal Court: 'The ruling needs to become final, but it is one more step'. In this sense, she stated that Marcela Acuña, Emerenciano, and César Sena 'lost their humanity' after the crime committed on June 2, 2023, in the Chaco city of Resistencia. The son of the couple received the maximum penalty for the crime of aggravated homicide due to kinship and gender-based violence, as the perpetrator, while his parents were declared criminally responsible as necessary participants. In turn, Gustavo Obregón was sentenced to four years and ten months in prison for the crime of aggravated concealment, while Fabiana Cecilia González was given five years in actual prison for simple concealment, the same crime committed by Gustavo Melgarejo, who received two years and ten months. The case The young woman was last seen on June 2, 2023, when she entered a house that the Sena family had on the outskirts of Resistencia, but she never left, according to images provided by security cameras located in the neighborhood. Although the body was never found, prosecutors gathered sufficient evidence to establish that the woman was murdered, dismembered, and then incinerated, while her remains were scattered in an area adjacent to the property of her in-laws.
