Argentine dairy company SanCor files for bankruptcy

The dairy company SanCor Cooperativas Unidas Limitada (CUL) has filed for voluntary bankruptcy with the court. After more than a year in creditor preventive reorganization and with a debt of US$120 million, the company was unable to meet its payment plan with over 1,500 creditors. The filing was made with the court in Rafaela. The dairy company has been in preventive reorganization since February 2025. According to the Atilra union, the bankruptcy became inevitable after all reports confirmed the company's state of cessation of payments and insolvency. The union had already requested the opening of bankruptcy proceedings last September. Atilra stated that SanCor was sustained by the assets of its workers, to whom the company owes eight months of salary and bonuses. The union believes that bankruptcy is not an end but the beginning of a new phase, where the SanCor brand, stripped of the structures that led it to the brink of extinction, must flourish again with the impetus of the quality of the products made by its members.
