Journalist Arrested After Assault with Fire Extinguisher

The renowned journalist Mario Pernigotti was arrested after a serious incident at the Vehicle Evaluation Center in Posadas. Pernigotti attacked three employees of the center with a fire extinguisher after being informed that his license was expired and he could not complete the procedure driving there.

Rocío Lemes, one of the assaulted employees, described the tense moment: "I did a documentation check, he had an expired license, and he came alone, no one brought him. So, when I told him that he would not be able to take the test, he became agitated, started attacking me, shouting. He looked at me with a face full of hatred, and at one point he pretended to hit me with the fire extinguisher; it passed within a centimeter of my head."

The brutal incident was captured by the venue's security cameras, showing Pernigotti screaming and attacking the employees with the extinguisher. Vanesa Gómez, another victim, stated that they never disrespected the journalist and always maintained a courteous manner.

Following the complaint filed by the assaulted individuals, Mario Pernigotti was arrested this Tuesday. It was reported that the journalist threatened one of the employees with losing his job, despite being informed that he could not drive with an expired license and left the place in his truck.
