Franco Colapinto Receives Sanction in Formula 1

In the Formula 3 Grand Prix of Argentina, Franco Colapinto was penalized despite holding the twelfth position. During the last lap of the race, Colapinto collided with the rear wheel of the Williams driver with no consequences for his final position. Despite the penalty, he maintained a comfortable 12-second lead over Esteban Ocon, his main pursuer.

The penalty occurred due to a maneuver in which Colapinto was involved with Liam Lawson. Both drivers were battling for twelfth place, with Lawson behind Colapinto. In a series of aggressive moves in the early corners, Lawson overtook Colapinto, forcing him off the track. However, Colapinto responded similarly in the next corner, pushing both drivers to the limit of the track.

The 10-second penalty was imposed on Colapinto for "causing a collision" with Lawson. This was the first penalty he received in his Formula 3 career. Despite the controversy generated by the FIA's decision, Colapinto managed to maintain his position, demonstrating good performance on the track throughout the race.
