The young Argentine driver Franco Colapinto is preparing for his second season in Formula 1, in a new role as a reserve driver for the Alpine team. Although he is not part of the main driver duo, Pierre Gasly and Jack Doohan, Colapinto will be present at every Grand Prix, starting with the Australian GP, ready to get into the car if needed.
The possibility of Colapinto racing in a Grand Prix will depend on exceptional circumstances, such as injuries or unforeseen events affecting the main drivers. His presence will not go unnoticed, as cameras often focus on emerging drivers, as seen with Liam Lawson at Red Bull.
This new role represents a crucial step in Colapinto's career on his way to Formula 1. It gives him the opportunity to immerse himself in the world of an F1 team, learn from the main drivers, and be ready to compete if required. If Gasly or Doohan cannot participate, the Argentine would be the first to take their place, as he is the primary among the team's four reserve drivers.
During race weekends, Colapinto's work will be constant, from the first free practice on Friday to Sunday, remaining alert and prepared for any eventuality that may arise.
