Buenos Aires, March 28 (NA) — One worker died and another was seriously injured as a result of a fire that broke out today in the Pilar Industrial Park, north of the Buenos Aires metropolitan area, authorities confirmed. The fire occurred late in the afternoon at the Nueva Energía refinery, located at the intersection of 5th and 8th Streets in the industrial complex, while workers were attempting to refuel a truck, according to the Argentine News Agency. There are gasoline and diesel fuel deposits on site, which caused rapid combustion, leading to a series of explosions that killed one worker, while his colleague was taken to the Pilar Central Hospital with severe burns, and his condition is reserved. Several fire crews were on the scene and were continuing their work to contain the flames this evening.
