A violent incident that occurred early Saturday morning shocked the city of Pigüé, in the southwest of the Buenos Aires province, as a 17-year-old teenager is hospitalized after being brutally beaten in a public place. The incident occurred this Saturday when a man identified as Matteo Martinoya, approximately 35 years old, got out of a white pickup truck and attacked the boyfriend of his ex-partner. Both victims, aged 17, were walking down the street, according to Noticias Argentinas agency. According to testimonies, Martinoya intercepted the couple and began to beat the young man, identified as Darío Carrizo, who fell to the ground and received a kick to the head, losing consciousness. After the attack, the assailant fled in his vehicle. The injured youth was urgently transferred and remains in serious condition. Sources consulted indicated that, due to the severity of the injuries, the case could be framed as attempted homicide. Neighbors pointed out that the accused had a history of violence, and they claim that on another occasion he had stabbed a person in the area of Laguna de las Encadenadas, located about 100 kilometers from Bahía Blanca.
