Severe Storms Cause Flooding in Entre Ríos

In Entre Ríos, a new episode of storms is expected between next Friday and Saturday. Last week, the province was affected by strong storms with heavy rains and winds, resulting in flooding and traffic disruptions in several cities, with Paraná being one of the most affected with fallen trees and damage to public roads.

Villa Elisa and Villaguay, which had already suffered from the effects of the previous storm, were affected again, with flooded homes, damaged roads, and an exacerbated current situation. The rainfall in less than three hours ranged from 150 to 200 millimeters, collapsing drainage systems and causing serious complications in infrastructure.

The impact on infrastructure and services was significant, with power outages in various neighborhoods in Villa Elisa, interruption of Route 130 that connects both cities, and isolation of Villa Elisa due to cuts in its main accesses. In Villaguay, the southern access was also affected. Several families were evacuated from their homes with no official data on the number of affected individuals.

The Quinto Elemento hotel in the Termas de Villa Elisa experienced flooding in its underground parking lot, leaving guests' cars floating, while the Volunteer Firefighters worked on drainage. Local authorities are maintaining emergency operations to assist those affected and ensure safety in the area.

Affected individuals are advised to follow the instructions of local authorities and Civil Defense, avoid traveling through flooded areas or closed roads, and stay informed through official sources about the weather conditions and communication routes.

The forecast indicates that the storm will persist this Monday, albeit with less intensity than over the weekend.
