Figueroa Discusses State Presence in Neuquén

The governor of Neuquén, Rolando Figueroa, inaugurated the regular session period of the province with a strong speech before the Legislature. In his address, Figueroa highlighted the importance of the presence of the State and public works in the region, rejecting confrontational stances. Despite not having voted for Javier Milei, Figueroa expressed that his ideas differ in several aspects, especially regarding public works and the role of the State.

Regarding Milei's criticisms of the governor of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof, and his proposal to intervene in the province, Figueroa pointed out that, while he does not share those views, he respects that Milei is fulfilling what he promised during his campaign and that he has the support of the majority of the citizens. Concerning his position towards the national government, the Neuquén governor assured that he will support anything beneficial for the inhabitants of Neuquén, but he will also express his disagreement on those aspects he considers harmful.

Figueroa emphasized his developmental vision regarding public works and the presence of the State, affirming that the defense of federalism and popular election must be clear. Regarding the controversy of "Cryptogate," the governor stated that if there is any crime, there are institutional mechanisms to determine responsibilities, focusing on solving the problems of Neuquén and working in collaboration with local mayors.

In summary, Figueroa made it clear that his administration will focus on the benefit of the province of Neuquén, maintaining a constructive and dialogue-oriented stance with the national government, while also marking differences with certain political positions without falling into unnecessary confrontations.
