In the context of the Argentina Oil and Gas Expo Patagonia 2024 in Neuquén, Germán Burmeister, president of Shell Argentina, highlighted the growth of the exhibition, praising the organizers and emphasizing the remarkable progress of Vaca Muerta in recent years. He believes that this event reflects the industry's effort to position Vaca Muerta as a key player in the global energy sector and is an opportunity to reflect on how to move forward in a more competitive and safe manner.
Burmeister stressed the need to accelerate the development of Vaca Muerta, identifying three essential factors to achieve this: resolving access to foreign currency, improving infrastructure at various levels, and having highly trained personnel. He emphasized the importance of strengthening local content in a competitive way, which is key to the progress of the industry, and the relevance of collective leadership in the Argentine oil sector.
The president of Shell Argentina noted that the company reached an agreement with YPF to establish a working group focused on the value chain and expressed optimism about the future of Vaca Muerta and the potential role of the oil industry in the national economy. He underscored the need to learn to adapt quickly to the industry’s development, which is still in a learning phase.
In a gesture of gratitude, Burmeister thanked Shell workers for their commitment and dedication, encouraging them to continue being an integral part of this ongoing story.
