
Report number 635 from the Economic Observatory of ACIPAN corresponding to the first half of April reveals concerning data regarding the situation of commercial establishments in the city of Neuquén. According to the report, 151 establishments were detected in the three main shopping centers of the city, with 9.6% of them inactive, representing an increase from the previous period, which was at 8.4%.
In the analysis of the commercial area of West Neuquén, 10 blocks were surveyed, finding that the vacancy rate was 3.5%, compared to the 8.9% recorded in October. Furthermore, it is noted that the average number of closed establishments per block decreased to 0.6 from the previously recorded 1.5.
Despite some small signs of recovery on the streets, shopping centers continue to face difficulties. However, the report highlights a slight improvement in commercial activity compared to the end of 2024, reflected in a decrease in inactive establishments.
The survey, conducted twice a year since 2014, covered 1,870 establishments in various areas of the city. A total of 136 inactive establishments were recorded, representing 7.3% of the total, showing a slight improvement compared to the previous period.
Regarding the city center, the report highlights a slight decrease in the number of closed establishments in the Upper part of the city, while a significant improvement in vacancy was evidenced in the Lower part. On average, it is estimated that there are 0.9 closed establishments per block in both areas, an improvement compared to the data from October 2024.
